Congratulations Ally Weller On 4-H Win!

We are pleased to announce “Dude” was awarded Best in Show honours for steers within the Armstrong 4 H Club Show and Sale at the IPE Grounds in Armstrong B.C. on July 8th, 2016.  “Dude”
won his weight class, Best in Show, and Grand Champion Steer titles for 2016!

Over 90,000 4-H clubs worldwide advance youth development through various programs.  Community Futures North Okanagan was pleased to assist Alley with financial assistance for her first steer project under our 4-H Youth Loan Program.  The mission of 4-H is “engaging youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development”

Community Futures 4 H Youth Loan Program

Meet Alley Weller and “Dude”. Ally is a member of the Armstrong Beef 4-H Club and approached Community Futures in the fall of 2015 to request financial assistance with her first steer project under our 4 H Youth Loan Program.  In the photo above taken in the month of May, Dude was well on his way to achieving his weight gain goal of 1600 pounds.

4-H is an international organization with branches in 50 countries encompassing 90,000 clubs.  Clubs exist across Canada and have been an integral part of rural youth leadership development. Their mission is “engaging youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development”

About Community Futures

From our office in downtown Vernon, Community Futures North Okanagan offers employment, business and economic development services to help residents build their future and the community. We service Armstrong, Coldstream, Enderby, Grindrod, Lavington, Lumby, Mara, Okanagan Indian Band,  Spallumcheen, Splatsin and Vernon.
