We can help.
Join our Self Employment Program for an in-depth introduction to all business basics through in-person workshops and online learning tools and resources and 1:1 coaching support.
We cover important topics such as
- Developing your business concept
- Establishing your business values and what makes your business unique
- Defining your target market
- Identifying business structure and the operations of your business
- Planning your marketing strategy and connecting with your clients
- Forecasting financials and establishing pricing
- Drafting your business plan
For the first phase, you will attend weekly workshops with presentations, engaging group discussions, and activities working towards the completion of a detailed business plan, including financial projections.
For the second phase of the program, our Business Services Advisor team will continue to support you and the launch of your business through 1:1 coaching and mentorship, check-ins, and ongoing informative workshops.
*If you meet specific eligibility requirements, you may qualify for living supports through the WorkBC Self Employment Program.

Self-Employment Program FAQ’s
How much time do I need to dedicate to this process?
The program has been designed to be a full time commitment. We recommend a minimum of 35 hours a week.
When can I start?
Cohorts run monthly. Ask us when the next start date is.
What would make me eligible for the living support through the WorkBC SE Program?
Must be on EI or have been on EI in the past 5 years.
There are other factors that impact eligibility and these can be discussed further with our staff.
How much does it cost?
$299 + GST includes everything from the in-person workshops, online resources and coaching support
If you qualify for the WorkBC SE Program, there is no cost to you.
